Happy Pink Saturday!

Boy, it's been a while since I posted.   Usually this time of year I would be showing you all my roses but  unfortunately this has not been a good year for them.  Despite my constant fussing over them they still look stressed out!  We were (notice I said were) having really mild weather(in the 80's) for my part of California. July is usually in the high 90's to 100's.  I remember a few years ago we reached 117 in July.  Believe it or not the water in the pool was too hot to swim in.  I was hoping the mild temperature would help my roses but just as they looked like they were recovering the temperature is back up there again!  I managed to take a few shots of them before they burn!  I have about 100 roses and these were the only ones worthy of a photo!   :(

One of the things I love about Vincas is they like the heat! These are on the west side of our house where it gets the horrible HOT afternoon sun and yet they look so pretty.
I love to grow flowers in containers but in the heat it can be a challenge.  So far so good with these cute million bells.
Time to go inside where it's a lot cooler!  Here's a few of my pretty inside pinks!

Hope you all have a great weekend.  Please visit Beverly at How Sweet The Sound to see all the other pretty Pink Saturday posts.

  2. Oh Denise, your roses look so pretty. You would never know by the look of them that it's so hot outside.
I doesn't feel like it was that long ago, we were all complaining about the cold weather! HA!
It's been a whacky year for weather, that's for sure. We have not had the heat that we normally get. That being said, all my roses are fried the second they open. It's just too hot here in the summer months.
Stay cool and enjoy your pool, that's we do too.
Happy Pink Saturday sweetie, stay safe, Char

  4. I just love to come visiting! Your home is so beautiful as is your yard! Your pink rose is b-a-t-i-f-u-l! I wish we had a yard big enough for 100 roses!
I know that the pool can feel warm like a big bath! I am a desert rat misplaced here in Michigan and I remember!
Everything is beautiful, but my eye caught that lovely bottle!

  6. Happy Pink Saturday Denise Sweetie...
Oh my your flowers are faring far better than mine here in Phoenix. I love seeing your pink roses, and I could smell the fragrance clear out here in the sandy desert of Phoenix.

Your patio is so gorgeous and I love the view of the pool as well. So pretty. (Ours too, has been to hot to want to swim in.) No cool place to light in of late.

Love your chair with the pink roses. How absolutely breathtaking that is. The envelope pillow is my favorite.

Thank you for taking me on a tour today of All Over Roses sweetie. I so enjoyed myself, and for that brief moment, forgot about the heat here. Have a glorious weekend. Many hugs and much love from Phoenix, Sherry

  7. Happy Pink Saturday. This heat is waving across the states, isn't it? You area usually gets some breaks, ours just lingers. Hot, dry, windy where we are. Everything suffers. Great pink shots. I see you have 2 sons and get to spend that pinkness on your grand-daughters. I also looked at the wedding post ... wonderful post. I missed that w/Stephanie. I saw the link, then forgot, then remembered too late. Enjoyed my visit down the sidebar and a few posts. Thanks! Jenn

    Happy Pink Saturday on tuesday!!
You certainly do have a green thumb!! Your roses are always a spectacular show and I would even love to see some that you dont think are up to par! I bet they are gorgeous too :-))
Your pool looks so refreshing and inviting and I would probably toss in 100 bags of ice cubes to get the temperature down and jump in - hehe
Your settee is just the prettiest I've ever seen and the pillows are the perfect touch!
I always love when you share your home with us!!
    Pink Rosey Hugs,
