Happy Pink Saturday!

Boy does the week go by fast!  I was having trouble finding something to share this week.  Then I remembered something I made a few days ago and thought it might be something fun to share with you.

First let me ask you if you watch any of the shows on HGTV when they stage houses to sell?  I've noticed they always seem quite negative about silk flowers in any shape or form.  They refer to them as dust catchers!  :(  Well if you ask me everything in your house collects dust.  You can't really avoid it...dust is everywhere!  You just have to deal with it.  I love having flowers around my house so I am willing to spend the few minutes it takes to dust them off!  It's like bringing the garden inside and it makes my house feel cheery!   I love to put candle rings around some of my candles.  I think it really dresses them up.  Unfortunately they aren't always  that easy to find.   My sister gave me this beautiful mercury glass candle holder a few months ago.  I displayed it at Christmas with a red candle and a Christmas candle ring.  But, now I want to display it the rest of the year.  So I went into my stash of silk flowers and made my own.

This one is in my bathroom!

Here's another one I made for my living room!

Here's some pictures of a few others around my house.

Susan from Northwest Pretties made this. She permanently attached the flowers.

Since I'm showing you some silk flowers I just had to share this adorable arrangement I bought using  a vintage purse.

Happy Pink Saturday everyone!  Please visit Beverly at How Sweet The Sound to see all the other amazing posts!

  3. Denise, your arrangements are beautiful. I especially love the one in the purse, it is out of the ordinary and that is why I like it so much. I love wall baskets and this one reminds me of that, thanks for the idea, I may just have to do that as well. BTW, I would not take to much stock in what the designers on HGTV say about the silks, some of the stuff they do...I yell at the TV...and just who is going to clean that thing. LOL.
    Happy PS

  6. Hi Denise!
I love all your pretty faux flowers! They make them so realistic these days that you cant even tell most times that they are not the real thing! And they do not wither up and die in a week :-)
I use that canned air to clean them sometimes if they are not too delicate.
I watch some of the HGTV shows too and have you even ever seen a pink rose anywhere!?
I think they are missing the boat by not having any shows for us shabby chic pink rose loving ladies!
Awwwww - your "cutest cupids ever" are TRULY the cutest cupids ever :-))
Hope all is well over in Roseville and I wish you a wonderful weekend!!
    Hugs and Blessings,
    Lynn

  7. How VERY charming and lovely!! I'm definitely at a PINK stage of my life---read through the PINK issue of House Beautiful in the doctor's office, and came home all enthused about getting the Spring into the house.

These beautiful arrangements just BRIGHT me more than you know. Simply charming.

  8. Hi sweetie, I think you found the perfect pink for this week. I love your arrangements and each one looks so real. These are not the plastic flowers of years ago.
Rarely do I watch DIY, but I think I may just have to start.
    Happy Pink Saturday, Char

  9. I came across your blog just now and I want to tell you how beautiful your candle flower rings are~~they look just like the "real thing"
and how long does it take to brush off a few flowers???
I am looking for some candle rings for a set of frosted pink goblets I want to display on a tray for Easter...one arrived with the stem broken off except for a tiny portion so I want to cover the stems with flowers rings and no one will know.....no, I don't plan to USE them!!
Wish I could create some lovley rings like you have!! I have LOTS of good ideas, but no talent
    to do it!! LOL

  10. HGTV is my absolute favorite channel ever!! I have to make sure I have the house cleaned and laundry caught up on before I switch it on because I won't get up from the couch for hours!! I love your creations, they are each so pretty. And I love that pink dresser I spied on the third photo. Is it hand painted? Gorgeous!!! Thanks for sharing your pretties. I like silk flowers too and have them in a few rooms.
    Have a wonderful weekend!

  11. Happy Pink Saturday Denise Sweetie...
Oh what a beautiful share this is. I love the candle rings that you have made. I totally disagree with HGTV on silk flowers. Some are so exquisite (like your candle rings) done so tastefully, they are just beautiful.

I thought the first one was so exquisite, then I started to scroll and found another, and another, each one even more beautiful than the one before. My what a talent you have with floral arrangements. I could smell the roses and the eucalyptus in the arrangements. So pretty sweetie, and thank you so much for sharing.

I loved my tour this evening. Hope you have a beautiful Saturday sweetie. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

  14. I'm BACK this morning, just to say that we spent a great part of the afternoon in Michael's, JoAnn's and Hobby Lobby, searching out candle-rings and the palest pink silk roses, and a lush cascade of some white lilac-y things that I think will go beautifully when they're all arranged.

The palest blush-pink candles, a hand-clutch of half-a-dozen roses in a slightly-pinker shade, (plus all sorts of little pastel buckets and markers and coloring books and fun games for the GRANDS' Easter Baskets)---all that just brightened my day no end, and all because I clicked on your link.

I don't go out much, so DH was delighted when I suggested lunch and a little store-browsing for the afternoon. "Absolutely!" he said.

As we pulled into the first parking lot after lunch, I remarked to DH that it was so odd to have our entire afternoon arranged around a picture on the internet, and he said that THAT was just where we were supposed to be.

THANK YOU so much for the beautiful inspirations! And for all the "blush" and "bashful" covering my table this minute.

  17. THANK YOU sweetie for the wonderful and thoughtful comment today. I am so happy you enjoy my music, it's my favorite and that is what keeps me from changing. I know bloggers change their music so as to not bore or get bored, but somehow I just can't do it at this point...makes my feet tap!! :)
I appreciate your kind words about my kitchen. I also love to see and keep up with what's going on in your life. You have a gorgeous home and I look forward to seeing what spring and Pink Saturday bring. I will see you then, take care and be safe, Char
By the way, who doesn't love Barry!!??
