Remembering K9 Jimmy

Jimmy was my son's police dog until he was forced into retirement due to an injury.  He was enjoying his retirement living on a large parcel of land with another deputy from Sacramento County.  He passed away Sunday of natural causes.   He will be remembered for his dedication and loyalty to my son and the citizens of Sacramento County.  Jimmy was a beautiful German Shepherd as you can see from his picture.  His picture graced the cover of a book written about K9's a few years ago.

  1. Oh dear, they become members of the family and I feel your sons loss. There will be an empty hole in his life for a while as he grieves the loss of his friend and companion. Patience and good memories will see him thru. Take care.

  2. Oh Denise I am so saddened to hear about Jimmy! I know what a good dog he was and how Brian loved him so!
Such a good life he had and how lucky he was to have your son as a handler!
God bless his sweet canine soul!
    Hugs and XOXOX

  3. It is always hard when we loose a pet. We have only had ONE dog, a doby, she was a Darlene, that was her name, she blessed us with her being for 13 years. Now we have cats.
Only time will heal their loss.

  4. Hi Denise,
I am so sorry about Jimmy. He is a beautiful Sheperd. I am sure your son is very sad and I understand this too well. My bother in law is also a police office Sargent, and at one time was a K9 handler too. His Sheperd also passed away not long ago and it was a sad time for him and us all.
Jimmy and your son were a blessing to each other.
Wonderful picture of him in the car window.
    Sending my sympathy!
    Hugs, Celestina Marie

  5. That's sad. He was up there in age right?
He was so handsome. It's so hard losing a pet.
